It's fucked but I feel like I had to look at my myspace to know what I like anymore...sad.

Sam Peckinpah films: Especially The Wild Bunch, The Getaway, Convoy, all of the "If we can just get to Mexico everything will be okay" films. Also, Cross of Iron and Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia.

30 Rock: I underestimated Tina Fey sharp writing with Mean Girls, and nearly made the same mistake by passing on the first few episodes of 30 Rock. This is the best show on television, and joins the ranks of the most innovative comedies of the last ten years (Mr. Show, Arrested Development, Extras, and Curb Your Enthusiasm)

Cold beer and bike rides with friends: Living in the desert can be rough, but I have no fonder memories than drunken nocturnal bike rides with friends in the summer. The best.

Rap Music: I'm always for a new Jay-Z record, but I go to some dark places too (ex: the new Webbie album). I'm down with east, west, mid-west, trill/southern, conscious/backpack, and some underground. Actually it was listening to DJ Shadow, that got me into lots of electronic (idm, house, drum n bass, dubstep) which fills up the other half of my ipod.

Mexican food: Best part of being in the southwest.

Unless it's the Wu affiliates. Then it might very well be "bad Wu."

THE WILD BUNCH is the greatest film of all time. (actually Citizen Kane is, but TWB is my personal best film of all time.)

1 - Insane diy hardcore shows, the kind where you leave with a bruise on your lip from the microphone getting shoved in yr face, your body is covered in bruises from being used as a launchpad/using others as such and your throat hurts from screaming. Oh, God! YES!!!!

2 - And, of course, The Ramones

3 - Early Frank Miller

4 - Films

5 - Crime novels

Holy crap, I completely agree about the 30 Rock statement. Excellent show; I love it.

Citizen Kane, I can see being a great film, stylistically, etc.. but it seems to me to be lacking, in that it doesn't necessarily 'move' me.

30 Rock is about as close as I feel I may ever get to more Arrested Development. Such a wonderful show.

Oh, of course. I'm just talking the original 9. I'm hesitant to even let Capadonna into the mix.

Came across this site, I had to join and chime in!

The Brothers Quay - "Street of Crocodiles" is the most grotesquely beautiful film ever made, inspires me every time I watch it

Jimmy Corrigan - a sublime combination of storytelling, graphic design, history, and the absolute profoundity of the mundane.

Chicken Curry and Naan - desert island food

Division II Athletics - Who couldn't enjoy the Humboldt State Lumberjacks vs. the University of Alaska at Anchorage Seawolves? Clash of the titans.

Aphex Twin - the ultimate in sonic mindfuckery, the man is brilliant

In no particular order:

The Wire
Heat (the Michael Mann film, not the Burt Reynolds one)
Miles Davis' Kind of Blue
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
A pint of Guinness from the bar atop the Guinness Brewery (which also has an awesome view of Dublin to boot)
