Egypt keeps me good and humble. When I tell people I write comics, they assume I mean picture books about Mickey Mouse for kids. They give me little smiles and say “How adorable!” Even if AIR #3 sold 100,000 copies and I was awarded All The Eisners There Are, I would never be famous in Egypt. I think all writers should have a second home that simultaneously inspires them to write and reminds them that being a writer is, in the grand scheme of things, less important than being a plumber.
Still jet lagged, but here are some pics.
Me and an uncle-in-law:

No, seriously, we really do ride camels to work:

“No, seriously, we really do ride camels to work:”
Well, think of the money you’d save on gas.
“being a writer is, in the grand scheme of things, less important than being a plumber.”
